here it is ...
sorry the photo isn't great but there was no way I was going to model it personally. My legs are the palest bristly mess you can imagine and really wouldn't set the skirt off to good advantage. I promise to model it when my pins are in better shape but, in the mean time, my stand-in will have to do.
The hemming was finished this afternoon and it wasn't as bad as I was making out. I think I was just lacking in concentration yesterday. In order to get the frayed edge to the layers that the photo on the pattern shows I need to wash the skirt a couple of times. I might bung it in the wash this evening as I have a dark wash going on but there is always that thought in the back of my head that I may open the machine to discover the skirt has disintegrated. As a result I usually hold off washing one of my own made skirts as long as possible. But I want those frayed edges so into the wash it must go.
I have carefully folded away the pattern pieces and plan to make the 'A' line skirt as soon as I get the chance and get some of the fabric I am craving. I am hoping some of the latter may arrive in a couple of days. Wine may not help when it comes to hemming but it sure helps to loosen the purse strings.

Your skirt looks great!! The perfect summer skirt!
Oh, it's gorgeous Caroline (and your hem is waaaaay straighter than mine!).
Ah! I'm loving the skirt. Definitely needed to zoom in to get the full effect. I've got one skirt on the cutting board right now and then I think I may just need to get this patter.
I love it. The fabric may have been second choice, but works really well. Go on - stick it in the machine.
fab-u-lous
Your skirt is so beautiful! I couldn't visualise the eyelash fabric on an a-line skirt, but it works really well. Good job!
I'm glad I'm not the only one with white legs!
Great skirt - just waiting for my pattern to arrive - you have inspired me!
You must be so pleased with how it's turned out Carolyn. It's lovely and now I can't wait to see the next one.
BTW mine are bristly too but I think I can get away with it a bit more as they're brown!
Good job! The fabric is perfect, those lashes will certainly look good with the frayed edges.
Beautiful!
